| SQUATTERS |
The council evicted the squatters
from the pool building this morning (Friday) and they say there
is now 24 hour security on the site.

POOL USERS
MEETINGS
|
The next pool users meeting will be at
Fellows Court on Thursday September 12th at 7pm when members
of the Victoria Baths group from Manchester will be visiting
to speak about the campaign to re-open their swimming pool.
The last Pool Users Group meeting was held on July 11th - the
minutes are attached.

| SHOREDITCH
NEW DEAL PROPOSALS |
Shoreditch New Deal have worked up one
set of proposals which included a significant amount of housing.
These were seen as second best by the Pool users meeting and
Pool Trust, so a new set of drawings are being put together
- with a greater emphasis on the healthy living centre. Drawings
should be unavailable at the next pool users meeting.

| HACKNEY COUNCIL
AGREE TO TRANSFER |
Hackney Council have agreed in principle
to the transfer of the pool if a sound business plan is forthcoming.

| NEWSLETTER |
Haggerston Pool
Users group are planning to put together a newsletter - to reach
out much wider than this email bulletin - if anyone can help
with distributing this in the first week of September - even
in just one street - please get in touch - 020 7690 6662.

OPEN HOUSE
|
We've had to pull
out of the Open House program because of not being able to get
into the building to assess the Health and Safety considerations.

HAGGERSTON
POOL COMMUNITY TRUST
|
We are looking for new Trustees - is anyone
interested in taking on this role? More info from Liz Hughes
at HCD on 7690 6662 or reply by email. This involves some of
the more detailed work in putting together proposals for the
pool.

SPORT ENGLAND
& DEPT OF CULTURE MEDIA AND SPORT
|
Hackney Council are also discussing the
future of Haggerston Pool with Sport England and the Dept of
Culture Media and Sport.
